Dylan Dearinger: Drums, The Phoenix R&B/Dance Band

 

 

Dylan was born and raised in Tacoma, WA, and began playing drums at age 11. After high school, he attended the University of Washington where he played in the rhythm section for the UW jazz choir as well as for some of the student jazz combos. Dylan also attended Pierce College in Lakewood, WA. There he earned an AA Degree in Music while performing with several groups including the Pierce College Concert Band and the award-winning jazz groups, Farwest Jazz Choir and Pierce College Jazz Band.

 

After working with several local bands, Dylan traveled abroad to play in the jazz trio for Holland-America’s flagship, the Nieuw Amsterdam. While with the cruise line, he performed aboard the ship in several European countries, including Spain, Monaco, Greece, Italy, Croatia, Portugal, and Turkey. In addition, he’s performed in various U.S. locations from Miami to Reno and beyond.

 

Dylan has played drums for several local bands, such as The Kareem Kandi Band, The Peter Adams Trio, The JD Dorland Trio, New Jack City, Star Machine, Harmonious Funk, Radio 80, Sin City, Sonic Funk Orchestra, and Decade X. With these groups, he’s opened for several prominent artists, including Montel Jordan and Tony! Toni! Tone! In addition to playing with The Phoenix, he also currently performs with Rock-Bot Live Band Karaoke and U Rock Live Band Karaoke. Dylan has also been employed as a private drum instructor at Ted Brown Music in Puyallup, WA since 2008.
